Hi, I'm Sebastian

I’m a 1st year missionary from Peru.

What brought you to Christ in the City?

Jesus did it, but in a very particular and beautiful way. I have been in awe of Christ in the City since I was a teenager and was introduced to this apostolate for the first time. I had the opportunity to spend a couple of weeks in Denver, serving with CiC, which was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The experience of living in community, being vulnerable, surrendering to God and serving others was transformative and filled my heart with meaning. Today I feel God’s invitation to return to Christ in the City and let Him transform my heart. For me, Christ in the City is a gift from God to me, a gift to draw closer to Him and have an opportunity to love more fully.

What are you looking forward to?

I can’t wait to grow my relationship with Christ stronger. I believe that during this year of service, God will not stop showing me how much He loves me, which is a wonderful thing. It is through those I will meet this year of service, my friends on the street, my brothers and sisters in the community and my new friends, that my heart will be polished to be more like Jesus’ heart. That’s what excites me the most!

A little bit about me

I’m a psychotherapist and I’m a bit of a nerd about psychology, social sciences and good stories. I love to spend hours talking about any interesting topic and I really enjoy adventure sports and mystery books. I love hearing other people’s stories (and telling my own, too). I am very close to Saint John the Apostle and I hope that he will accompany me during this year of service.
