I’m a 2nd year missionary from Mesa, AZ.
What brought you to Christ in the City?
During my time in college I found myself gravitating towards mission opportunities ever since my freshman year. I found that the Lord was opening up my heart more and more toward the idea of becoming a full-time missionary. I went on a mission trip to Denver in the Summer of 2021 working with Catholic Charities. That was my first experience serving the homeless. I had the chance to meet and work with the missionaries in Denver serving at a Lunch in the Park and from there my desire to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary became clear. After that mission trip, the Lord eventually led me back to Christ in the City after I graduated from college.
How has Christ in the City helped you grow?
Christ in the City has helped me grow in so many ways. One of those ways is a greater understanding of myself. I learned a lot about my own poverty but also encountering the Lord and his mercy in it. Being loved in community helped me to more clearly see the love the Lord has for me. I have also gained a lot of communication skills from interactions in community and on the streets.
A bit about me
I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Applied Computer Science and a minor in Business in December of 2022. I spent most of my life living in California and moved to Arizona in 2016. Since moving I happily call Arizona my home. I enjoy spending my time doing outdoor activities such as hiking and camping when I get the chance to. I also enjoy photography and learning about different types of technology.
