I’m a 1st year missionary from Carmel, Indiana.
What brought you to Christ in the City?
I felt a call and a desire to be a missionary in some capacity from very early on in college, but the desire to serve with CIC came as a surprise late into my 5th year! I was very drawn to the littleness of the mission, community life, the simplicity that comes with life in the house, as well as how often we will frequent the Sacraments. When I visited in February of this year, I felt so at home in a place I had never been, and I knew that that was a grace being given to me by the Lord.
What are you looking forward to?
I didn’t know I had a heart for the poor until very recently. The closer the time comes for my mission to begin, I am becoming more and more convicted that serving and loving the poor is a very fundamental part of being a disciple of Christ. I am looking forward to spending time with our friends on the streets, living in community, and becoming more fully alive and fully myself and getting to be rowdy while doing it.
A bit about me
I recently graduated with a degree in choral music education from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!), so I am excited to bring my love and knowledge of music to Philly. I love to sing, dance, cook, spend time in nature, and express myself through photography. So, basically, if you need some glamour shots or wanna have a jam session, lemme know.
