Hi, I'm Alex

My name’s Alex and I’m a 2nd year Christ in the City missionary from Bowling Green, KY.

What brought you to Christ in the City?

The community and mission. I decided to apply to CIC following graduation when I experienced this community on a weeklong FOCUS mission trip in the summer. Throughout my time at CIC during the mission trip and interview weekend, I found a tremendous amount of serenity being with the community. I understood the ministry by serving at my local Newman center’s street ministry events. Yet, I was inspired by the in-depth friendships being cultivated with friends on the street and among the other missionaries.

What are you looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to growing in fellowship with other fellow missionaries and serving our friends on the street. The opportunity to love until it hurts all those I encounter and grow in my catholic faith. Moreover, I’m also an outdoorsy person that enjoys the mountains. To have the opportunity to serve while having a great view of the mountains in the backdrop is exciting!

A bit about me

I grew up in Bowling Green all my life and a recent graduate from Western Kentucky University with Mechanical Engineering. I have two brothers and a niece and nephew. I enjoy cooking and experimenting with different ingredients/spices. I find pleasure journaling, hiking/backpacking, and an occasional run. The most joy I have are deep conversations about faith, recovery, and life.
