I’m a 1st year missionary from Beloit, KS!
What brought you to Christ in the City?
I went on a spring break mission trip to Christ in the City in college and have had a love for the mission and community ever since. That week changed the way I viewed relationships and sparked a desire to intentionally love the people God places in my life. I feel called to give of myself radically, live in community, and serve the poor. Christ in the City seems like the perfect place to live out these desires, be formed, and grow in relationship with Jesus.
What are you looking forward to?
Over the past few years, I’ve experienced poverty in myself and in those around me on a deep level. I’ve also experienced the Lord’s faithfulness in the midst of poverty and brokenness. I’m looking forward to experiencing this more fully and showing others they are good and loved even amidst their struggles. I’m excited to share life with my community and see Jesus in all those I encounter.
A little about me…
I was born and raised in a small farming community in Kansas and am the second of five kids. After graduating from Kansas State, I spent a year in the Bronx as a missionary at a homeless shelter (a bit of a culture shock for a small-town Kansas boy, but I loved it). I enjoy running, reading, sunrises, road trips/traveling, hiking, playing sports, and really anything outdoors.
