What brought you to Christ in the City?
The FOCUS missionaries at Florida State University held a recruitment party, and during this event, I engaged in a long conversation with one of the missionaries about missionary life. I asked what other Catholic missionary organizations he knew of, and he brought up Christ in the City. He mentioned they engaged in homeless ministry and that they had a location in Philly (the city where I was born), both of which sparked my interest. Later that night, I visited their website, and the mission strongly resonated with me. For the next couple of months, my desire to serve as a missionary with CITC grew tremendously. Serving with CITC during my experience weekend was incredible and sealed the deal for me!
What are you looking forward to?
I am looking forward to the fulfillment that will come from doing the work of a Christ in the City missionary. Since giving God more control of my life, I have felt Him calling me to serve the poor, and working for CITC will allow me to grow immensely in this area of my faith. I am also excited about living in community with my fellow missionaries!
A little bit about me…
I was born in the great city of Philadelphia (Go Birds!) and moved to Connecticut when I was 10. Growing up, I did not pray or take religion seriously until the spring of my freshman year at Florida State University (Go Noles!). God quickly led me to the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith, and I was Confirmed into the Church in April 2025. Receiving Jesus in the Eucharist and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary have been life-changing and played a huge role in leading me to CITC! I love playing intramural sports, hanging out with friends, and watching Catholic apologetics on YouTube.
