Hi, I'm Rachel

What brought you to Christ in the City?

The Lord called me to serve and be served at Christ in the City. I’ve always had a heart for mission and a deep care for the poor. After completing high school, I served a mission year doing youth ministry with Regnum Christi in Houston, TX which was unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It wasn’t until January 2025 when I was attending the Catholic conference SEEK that the Lord opened my heart up to pursuing another mission year after finishing up college. I came to Christ in the City for a week-long mission trip my junior year and knew deep down I would make it back to Denver, and through His grace, here I am!

What are you looking forward to?

I’m most excited to grow in the way I love others through simplicity. Living in community will be a beautiful challenge, and I know my heart will be aligning even further with Christ’s as I serve my future friends on the street.

A little bit about me…

I’m just now finishing up my Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!!). After spending five years in Athens doing both undergraduate and graduate studies, I’m excited to take this next step to spend a year solely loving people and letting God love me. In my free time you can find me leading praise and worship, reading girly books, exploring different coffee shops, painting by number, or cuddling with my cat.

Where is your hometown?
