What brought you to Christ in the City?
I went on a spring break mission trip with my school at Christ in the City my freshman year. It is here that I fell in love with the mission of Christ in the City and everything that it stands for. I remember being so awestruck by it that I was so excited to go serve the homeless back home once I got back to Pittsburgh. I think I knew then that I was gonna become a missionary for CIC one day so I came back for mission trips during my sophomore and junior year at both CIC locations in Denver and Philly. Once senior year came, it was an easy decision for me to follow God’s call for me to become a CIC missionary
How has Christ in the City helped you grow?
Christ in the City has helped me realise a lot of my own capabilities and limits. The missionary life is hard and stretching in so many different ways, whether that is on the streets with our homeless friends or at home with our community, and through all of that I have realised my calling to unite both my joys and sorrows with the cross that Christ carries. I’m constantly reminded of the beauty of the lives we get to live as missionaries, and I look forward to continuing to live out this call.
