What brought you to Christ in the City?
During college, a desire grew in my heart to serve others in an intentional way while I still have the ability to do so. Instead of focusing on my own success, by spending this year at Christ in the City I will have the unique opportunity to focus my energies on knowing and loving the materially poor. In a time when loneliness is talked about as an epidemic, among rich and poor, young and old, I find this mission especially motivating. While I don’t expect to be at Christ in the City my whole life, I will be blessed to take the lessons learned here with me wherever I go, and be able to offer them back to God however he asks them of me.
What are you looking forward to?
I am looking forward to being formed for and formed by street ministry, as well as time spent in community prayer and the simple sharing of daily life.
A little bit about me…
After graduating high school, I moved to Pittsburgh to study math and computer science at Carnegie Mellon University. While there, I competed in the throwing events (shot put, discus, and hammer), but I enjoy every variety of physical activity, from barbell lifting to basketball to long walks. I also like to cook, read history, philosophy, and classic fiction, and occasionally study dead languages.
Where is your hometown?
