Hi, I'm Michael B

What brought you to Christ in the City?

Over the past few years of my life as I have been growing I have learned that I love to serve those around me. This paired with the fact that I have had some very deep and beautiful encounters with people on the streets led me to start considering where I could serve in a larger way. As I thought and prayed more about this I realized I had a desire to do some sort of full time mission work, and one of my friends who is a big fan of the CIC podcast “Homeless but Human” told me about Christ in the City. I was able to come up and visit for about a week and loved everything about the organization and the life the missionaries live, and knew I wanted in on it!

What are you looking forward to?

There are so many things big and small here at Christ in the City that I look forward to, but I think I could narrow it down to about three major things. Firstly, the opportunities and experiences to serve, I certainly feel the most alive when I am getting to live and give of myself and in particular the encounter based mentality that Christ in the City promotes is something I am a big fan of. Second, the formation and growth that I will be able to receive will be great, and certainly beneficial on my journey as a young Catholic man! Lastly, the community lifestyle! I am a big extrovert and getting to surround myself with good people of similar values that I can connect and grow with is something I love being able to do!

A little bit about me…

I am the oldest child and am blessed to have been Catholic my whole life. I love hanging out with friends, playing guitar, and riding motorcycles! My favorite way to pray is Adoration, and I love cooking for other people.
