What brought you to Christ in the City?
I’ve always loved service work and going on mission trips. This past year, as my relationship with Christ has deepened so has my desire to be a missionary full time. The first time I heard of CITC was while I was on a FOCUS mission trip to Mexico last spring, and it immediately piqued my interest. This, coupled with the great experiences and connections I’ve shared with the poor on the street over the last year, really amplified the calling I heard in my heart.
What are you looking forward to?
I am looking forward to making so many new friends and being part of a community where service and prayer are highly valued. I am also excited to learn new skills and have new experiences that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
A little bit about me…
I just graduated with a BS in psychology and a minor in English. I love animals, videogames, going to the gym, travelling, being outside, and all kinds of art. I’m one of six kids, I have a dog I rescued from Guatemala, and I lived in Chicago for 3 years.
Where is your hometown?
I am from Michigan! Half of my family lives in metro Detroit and the other half lives in northern Michigan. Growing up, I spend all my summers in Traverse City, but in the winter I went to a Catholic school just north of Detroit. I consider both places my hometown!
