Hi, I'm Landon

What brought you to Christ in the City?

Before learning about Christ in the City I was still looking for jobs that I wanted to do out of high school but nothing really struck my attention until I watched the documentary for Christ in the City. I quickly resonated with the missionaries and saw the mission they were doing in the streets and it sparked my interest. I prayed whether this was the right decision for me and after visiting I realized this was the family I longed to be a part of. I have always wanted to help others out and I believe that is why God called me to Christ in the City.

What are you looking forward to?

During my visit at Christ in the City I met 30 amazing missionaries who all had a deep love for Christ first and foremost and seeing how they lived out this love for Christ and brought it into the streets helped encourage me. I am looking forward to making new friends with the missionaries and the people on the streets as well as getting to grow in my relationship with Christ. Though living with other missionaries is tough I think there is something beautiful to look towards in these friendships at Christ in the City.

 A little bit about me…

I am an older brother to two siblings who are five year old twins. I was born and raised and still live in Lafayette, Louisiana. My favorite hobby is playing soccer, especially on my high school team. I enjoy the time with my friends and try to spend time with my family, especially with my brothers, as much as I can. More important than this is my devotion as a Catholic to help and serve the Lord through the community. I help serve in my school’s campus ministry doing retreats and leading activities such as small groups and in this I have found confidence in talking about the Lord and enjoy leading others to Christ. Some of my favorite saints are: St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Michael the Archangel, and my personal favorite, St. Carlo Acutis.
