What brought you to Christ in the City?
I started volunteering with Christ in the City around the end of January, 2026. I went on the Friday night street walks down 16th street as often as I could, and I left each walk with encounters that would linger in my mind for weeks, months, and many that I expect to carry with me for years. Learning to understand and see the dignity of all people, to see Christ in the homeless, and discovering how similar I am to those on the streets has been, and continues to be, a truly transformative experience. I was confirmed into the Church on Easter, 2026, and by that point it became clear that my faith wasn’t just something that belonged on the sidelines of my life, but rather that it should be at the center, and be the foundation that everything else is built on. So, I decided to leave the career I started as an aerospace contracts manager, leave and rent out the home I had recently bought, and spend a year learning to love more like Christ at Christ in the City. I expect the formation here to benefit me and those around me for the rest of my life, regardless of where I go after the year is over.
What are you looking forward to?
So many things. Generally, I am looking forward to all that I will learn from fellow missionaries, folks on the streets, and the staff and community around Christ in the City. The opportunity to be fully immersed in trying to be Christ’s hands and feet on the streets and be with those experiencing tremendous hardship is a privilege, and I’m eager to experience the growth that will come from the highs and lows of this kind of ministry.
A little bit about me…
I’ve lived in several places around Colorado, but I mostly grew up on a ranch in eastern Colorado. I enjoy hunting and fishing, boxing, running, reading, lifting weights, and working on woodworking or mechanical projects.
