Hi, I'm David

What brought you to Christ in the City?

During my Senior year of high school, I realized that God wasn’t calling me to go into seminary after my graduation, which was what I had planned on. However, I still had a strong desire in my heart to grow in virtue, and to serve the Lord in a radical way. I didn’t know what I was going to do with my future, and was starting to get anxious. That’s when I heard about Christ in the City. It immediately caught my interest, and after looking through their website and talking with some of the missionaries, I felt strongly that the Lord was calling me there. I became sure of that feeling once I took a visit to be with the missionaries for a few days. They were so joyful and loving in all their actions, and I kept thinking to myself “I want to be someone who is filled with love for others, just like them.”

What are you looking forward to?

I’m really excited to be living together in a community with people coming from all sorts of unique places and situations in life, but all sharing the same goal of serving the homeless and growing in holiness. I’m also excited to learn and become better at some practical skills (cooking, cleaning, fixing things, etc…) that will be necessary wherever I go in life.

A little about me…

I’m from Minnesota, and I’ve been blessed to grow up in a loving family with my parents, my two older brothers, and my two younger brothers. I’ve been raised in Catholic schools my whole life, and as I grow older I continue to come to a greater realization of the love that Christ has for me. I love being involved in all the events and activities in my church, altar serving at Mass, and going deeper in my prayer life. I really enjoy discussing difficult and interesting concepts, whether they be religious, philosophical, political, or completely random. I also like going for walks, reading, exploring nature, and hanging out with friends.

Where is your hometown?
