Hi, I'm Celine

What brought you to Christ in the City?

In the fall of 2025, I felt drawn to take a new path to help me grow, especially in my faith. Incidentally, during that same time I had heard about Christ in the City and volunteered at a lunch in the park. Afterwards, I came back to their house and helped with dishes. I made a joke about how much I loved washing dishes (it actually can be quite relaxing at times). “You should apply to be a missionary then!” was the response of one of the missionaries. I chuckled, the thought had crossed my mind, but I didn’t really think it was something I could do. After that day I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I started to listen to their podcast, ‘Homeless But Human’, and the more I learned about the mission and got to hear the testimonies the more it seemed like something I desired to do. I finally applied. When I got to do my stay with the missionaries for a few days, I felt challenged, but so at peace. I knew it was how I wanted to spend the next year if given the opportunity!

What are you looking forward to?

I am so excited to get to live and grow in friendship with all my fellow missionaries. I’m also looking forward to challenging myself by letting God carry me through the uncomfortable in order to experience Him in the poor and to help bring hope to them. I’m thrilled to get to share my beautiful state with all the missionaries coming from other parts of the country as well!

A little bit about me…

I am a Colorado native and I enjoy running or doing anything outdoors. Dogs have a special place in my heart and I helped my sister raise our Golden Retriever pup named Whiskey. Since graduating high school in 2024 I have worked as a dog groomer, a medical assistant, a flower lady, a nanny, and a pet sitter. I am absolutely blessed to have been raised in an awesome family with 2 big brothers and 2 sisters. I am also blessed to be a part of a wonderful parish family at OLMC in Littleton, CO.

Where is your hometown?
