What brought you to Christ in the City?
I was brought to Christ in the City completely by accident when I was visiting a friend in Denver. While she was working, I went to daily mass and met a long time Christ in the City volunteer who brought me to lunch in the park! I had never heard of Christ in the City, or felt called to serve the homeless, but that one encounter changed my heart and felt like a nudge from the Lord to enter deeper!
What are you looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to giving a year to the Lord and seeing how he works! I have this deep desire to be right at the heart of his church and to love who he loves, and I think that he has many things to reveal through this next year!
A bit about me
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, the best place on earth! I have 2 little brothers that I love to pieces and wonderful parents who have been such great models to us. My friends call me “Toast” or “Shley” and I can usually be found in a book, crafting, walking or simply drinking coffee with someone I love!
