Hi, I'm Allie

What brought you to Christ in the City?

A lot! But ultimately, it was the Lord revealing my love for the poor and my desire to be more deeply formed for lifelong mission. I visited a friend in Denver back in January of 2024, and we volunteered with CITC for a Wednesday Lunch in the Park. Since then, CITC has remained on my heart, and the Holy Spirit has been guiding me here. I knew that after graduating from LSU, I wanted to join a mission program where I could be formed into a better missionary disciple of Christ and further develop a heart of service. To live for Heaven and lead people there! When I visited CITC in February ’25, I fell in love with everything about their mission! Above all, I fell in love with the poor. I realized how much my heart breaks for the homeless and how deeply I desire to love them. During Lunch in the Park, I was making a friend, and our encounter really touched me – it was the first time I was ever talking to someone and saw Jesus Christ in his eyes.

How has Christ in the City helped you grow?

Well this answer could go on for a while. Christ in the City has formed me in so many ways I was hoping for – but also many ways I didn’t know were possible. To summarize, this place has formed me into a person who loves – at least I hope so, haha. It has done this by showing me that I’m actually not the one doing the loving – God is. Any good we do is only possible because of God acting through us. The giver of all good things – our Triune God! I can do nothing without Him. So I bring my emptiness to the Lord and ask Him to do with me what He will. All in all, I’m constantly reminded that everything always goes back to LOVE – It’s the whole point! And what better person to ask to love through me than Love Himself, Love Incarnate, Jesus Christ! Love ya

A little bit about me…

I’m going into my 2nd year with CITC. In May of ’25, I graduated from Louisiana State University – Geaux Tigers!!! The person I have become is a reflection of the Lord’s goodness, the people He’s placed in my life, and the deep freedom found in Christ. I loveeee meeting new people and making friends with anyone I cross paths with – loving them however I can! I love to be present and enjoy the life Christ died for us to live. I love to laugh and play and enjoy the beauty of everything and everyone around me. I try to never pass up a chance to go to a concert or hear some live music. Spontaneous plans are my favorite ones – or, no plans at all! I love being in communion with the Lord’s creation, so I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the outdoors with friends here in Colorado. Above all, serving with CITC has shown me that being poured out for God and for the other is what my heart yearns for.

Where is your hometown?

New Orleans, Louisiana!
