What brought you to Christ in the city?
I’m in love with Jesus Christ and I want to give my life as a gift to Him. In all my searching of different ways I could serve Him on mission, nothing quite spoke to my heart. That was until a friend invited me to visit while he was serving with Christ in the City for the summer. On my way there, I found myself thinking- what would Jesus do at my age with His free time? Then I realized I didn’t need to ask that. Jesus was on earth and He was my age and He spent His time seeking out and loving the ones that often get pushed aside by society. From my first moments on the streets, I could feel the Lord’s heart for His children often overlooked by the world. I want to love them because He loves them.
What are you most looking forward to?
Building friendships and journeying with those we serve! When I visited Christ in the City over the summer I was so sad thinking about how I probably wouldn’t see the people we met again. I am so excited to invest in them over these months and see all that the Lord does in their hearts and their lives. There is something so special about walking with someone in the most difficult times of their lives and I cannot wait to do just that.
A little about me….
I’m from a small town in Michigan and grew up as the fifth of six kids in my family. I was blessed to have parents that raised me in the faith and my siblings are my best friends. I graduated from the University of Toledo (go rockets!) in 2024. After graduation, I spent a year as a second grade teacher at a Catholic school in my area and it was such a blessing! I love being outside, baking, crafting, reading, and I’m very spontaneous. I love making memories- life is an adventure! But the most important thing about me is that Jesus changed my life and He can change yours too!
Where is your hometown?
Temperance, MI (paradise on earth!)
