What brought you to Christ in the City:
I was first introduced to Christ in the City two years ago when I was invited to a small group for women led by a couple of the missionaries. I immediately fell in love with the organization and the mission, and becoming a missionary has been on my heart ever since. This past year, as I finished up my last year of college, I seriously discerned what the Lord was calling me to next. It became clear that He was calling me to serve in a radical way. I have always had a heart for the neglected. Living in Denver, I have seen how our friends on the streets are rejected and ignored every day. The Gospel teaches us that what we do to the least of those on Earth, we do to Jesus. At Christ in the City, I will have the opportunity to love deeply and authentically, and to try my best to imitate Christ’s unconditional love.
What are you looking forward to:
I look forward to strengthening my relationship with the Lord through community. The communities with my fellow missionaries and with my friends on the streets will be so full of Christ’s love, and I am excited to experience it! I’m also looking forward to living a life so close to the Sacraments and full of prayer.
A little bit about me:
I am from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and I come from a very loving family. I am incredibly close with my mom, dad, two older sisters, and one younger brother. I had the privilege of attending Catholic schools in Sioux Falls, and after I graduated from high school, I moved to Denver to attend Regis University. While at Regis, I earned my degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies while balancing a very chaotic load of extracurriculars. I am constantly finding ways to exercise my creativity, whether that is through my photography, playing piano, or anything else that requires an artistic mind. I am a big fan of Jesus, Denver sports, and Jimmy Buffett!
