What brought you to Christ in the City?
What brought me to Christ in the City was a recommendation from my vocation director. I was presented with several options, one of which was Christ in the City, but it was the only one that truly caught my eye. Through much prayer, and nudging from the Holy Spirit, I decided to travel from Texas to visit for a few days. Even when I visited CitC for just 4 days, my heart never felt fuller. From the life-giving encounters with our friends in the streets to the radical dependence on God through the service of others changed my view of people that I will treasure for the rest of my earthly life.
What are you looking forward to?
It is hard to pinpoint an exact thing I am excited about, but I often think about the forgettable moments in one’s life when they’re experienced in community. It may be a rosary during the car ride to downtown to begin street ministry, to sharing a meal while talking about the beauty of the Catholic Church, to every single moment of prayer in the chapel. All of these moments are beautiful in the spirit of communion with others. Those are the moments I am so excited to create with my other brother and sister missionaries.
A little bit about me…
I was born and raised in the great state of Texas! I have lived there all 22 years of my life. I have two wonderful siblings, Marina and Austin, of which I am the oldest, and two amazing parents, Adrian and Leticia. I have a great passion for music: I played the Euphonium for 9 years, 2 of which were in my university’s marching band. I developed a love for reading, especially adventure and theology books; I’m what they call a nerd. I graduated from Baylor University. I had plans to attend Physician Assistant school after, but halfway through, God inserted a deep dissatisfaction with that route. I am now happy to say I am discerning for the diocesan priesthood for the diocese of San Angelo!
