What brought you to Christ in the City?
I want to RADICALLY serve my Lord. Growing up, my attention was drawn more and more towards people that I observed on sidewalks and street corners. And as I got older, my compassion and concern developed towards those less fortunate than I have been. Two years ago, I was invited to walk the streets of downtown and hand out sandwiches every week. As weeks turned into months, I became friends with those I met and my love for the poor intensified. I cherished this weekly outing and I even made visits in my free time. Through this experience, I encountered Christ so deeply. This pull on my heart towards the streets was something I couldn’t ignore. Then CitC was brought to my attention. After visiting their booth at SEEK and experiencing the mission in Denver, I knew in my heart that this was going to be the next chapter in my life.
What are you looking forward to?
TO THE AWESOMENESS!!!! To listening to and learning from and knowing the homies on the streets. To meeting and knowing and growing with my fellow missionaries. To draw ever closer to CHRIST JESUS. To the MOUNTAINS! (I’m from Kansas) To all the UNKNOWNS and the ADVENTURE.
