Hi, I'm Blake

What brought you to Christ in the City?

Through my initial encounter with Jesus my senior year of high school and my entrance into the Catholic Church my junior year of college, the disparity of having Christ in my life and not having him was very clear. I became very convicted of my desire to help bring others to this joy. Through exploration of mission opportunities I was told about Christ in the City and was brought to tears, knowing that this is the heart of the Gospel. After discernment and a year in the workforce I was called to the privilege of serving God’s beloved poor.

How has Christ in the City helped you grow?

The entire mission is centered around communion: with God, those we serve, with our brothers and sisters, and ourselves. In a disintegrated social world, I have learned true love and communion in all of these aspects and I’m deeply anticipating the further graces that await me.

A little bit about me…

I am from the great state of Nebraska in a small town named Ashland. I graduated with a degree in accounting from Wayne State College and worked for a year in Omaha before coming out here. I love learning about almost anything, having deep talks, and eating delicious food! I hope to get more into music, cooking, and reading!

Where is your hometown?
