My name’s Sterling and I’m a 1st year Christ in the City missionary from Marrero, LA.

What brought you to Christ in the City?

I was drawn to serve with CIC because I love helping the people who go unseen in society. Jesus has shown me His loving heart for all people when I have shared conversation and met with people who struggle daily to find hope and meaning in life. I’ve served as a missionary with NET Ministries for the past 2 years in the USA and Ireland, and the simplicity, purity, and importance of a God-centered mission has been a great grace in my life. I want to continue sharing about God’s desire to meet with every person wherever they are in life by being a beacon of prayer, hope, and conversion to everyone I meet.

What are you looking forward to?

I can’t wait to bring the joy of the Gospel to those who need to hear it in Denver. I know I’ll be inspired by the strength and simplicity of the people I encounter on the streets. I look forward to the friendships I’ll make on and off of the streets with my fellow missionaries. I want to be the face of Jesus to those who need His kindness and healing.

A bit about me

I’m 24 and I’ve been serious about my Catholic faith for about 6 years (and what great years they’ve been!) The first thing you may learn when you meet me is the joy I have for sharing God’s natural gifts that are all around us. I studied environmental science in college and love sharing the beauty of creation with others. I also love to perform music for people on piano and to glorify God through my talents. I enjoy meaningful conversation, theology, and passing the time in prayer, reading, and playing games with friends.

If you join me in the mission as a monthly supporter, you will also become part of Known & Loved, Christ in the City’s monthly giving community! We are so grateful for our monthly supporters and their consistent generosity which makes it possible for us missionaries to be formed and reach out the homeless all year-long.
