My name’s Sarah and I’m a 1st year Christ in the City missionary from Armagh, Ireland.

What brought you to Christ in the City?

I have experienced a gentle tug on my heart to do ‘something more’ ever since I graduated from university. I discovered Christ in the City via a Facebook post and let’s just say, it made a real impact! For me, Christ in the City has the perfect balance of getting to know, love and serve God, our friends on the street and my fellow missionaries. I come to Christ in the City with the desire to accompany others while they bear the cross of the greatest poverty; feeling unloved, unwanted and uncared for.  I am inspired by St. Teresa of Avila’s prayer: “Christ has no body on earth but yours.” I am looking forward to using my hands and feet for the service of others and using my heart to both accept and show others the gentleness of God’s Divine love. I am so excited that God has brought me to Christ in the City this year, and I look forward to seeing the adventures that unfold!

What are you looking forward to?

I am looking forward to  the joy and laughter that will come from community life (and the opportunities for growth in virtue!) and to embracing the strength and graces that come from total surrender to God.

A bit about me

I am from County Armagh in Ireland. I live at home with my mum, my dad, 2 brothers, my sister, 3 dogs and my 2 goats! I have been working as a speech and language therapist for adults with a learning disability for the past 2 years. I love listening to music (especially musicals!) playing the saxophone, baking and just having good Irish “craic” with my friends

everyone deserves
to be known & loved

If you join me in the mission as a monthly supporter, you will also become part of Known & Loved, Christ in the City’s monthly giving community! We are so grateful for our monthly supporters and their consistent generosity which makes it possible for us missionaries to be formed and reach out the homeless all year-long.

Watch Zach’s testimony below to hear what it means to him to be Known & Loved.
