My name’s Ryan and I’m a 1st year Christ in the City missionary from Sammamish, WA.

What brought you to Christ in the City?

A desire to serve the poor more intentionally. After converting to the Catholic Church my junior year of college the Lord invited me to set aside the worldly desires and ambitions that I had, to pick up my cross, and to follow Him. I believe that Christ in the City is the perfect opportunity for me to do just that.

What are you looking forward to?

I am looking forward to serving other people, whether that be our friends on the street or my fellow missionaries. I am also looking forward to growing in my relationship with the Lord through a routine of prayer, service, and reception of the Sacraments.

A bit about me

I was born and raised in Sammamish, WA, but I spent the last four years in Dallas studying computer science at Southern Methodist University. While on a study abroad program in Florence, It, the summer after my freshman year, I become enthralled with the Catholic Church and my junior year I was officially received into the Church. I love to cook, drink coffee, learn about theology and Church history, and I am excited to call Denver home for the next year!

everyone deserves
to be known & loved

If you join me in the mission as a monthly supporter, you will also become part of Known & Loved, Christ in the City’s monthly giving community! We are so grateful for our monthly supporters and their consistent generosity which makes it possible for us missionaries to be formed and reach out the homeless all year-long.

Watch Zach’s testimony below to hear what it means to him to be Known & Loved.
