Hi, I'm Nancy

I’m a 1st year missionary from Golden, CO.

What brought you to Christ in the City?

I did Christ in the City Summer of Service between my junior and senior year in college. When people tell you that spending time on the streets with the homeless community will change your life, believe them, because they are right. I loved my experience this past summer, and as I entered my senior year at Thomas Aquinas College, I felt very called to go back to Christ in the City after graduation.

What are you looking forward to?

There are so many things that I am excited for in this next chapter of my life. To start, I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know my fellow missionaries. Christ in the City attracts a beautiful group of selfless and determined young people, and it is an edifying experience for me to spend my days with people like them. I grew up in the suburbs of Denver, and so I am also looking forward to spending time in the Rockies and the adventures that I know will come along with that. But most of all, I’m excited to give myself in service to the homeless. It is an experience that I can only describe as supernatural to spend time on the streets with the so-called “outcasts of society” and see the Image of Christ there.

A bit about me

I grew up in Golden, Colorado, which is tucked right beneath the Rocky Mountains. I spent most of my childhood messing around in the mountains hiking, rock climbing, or biking with my three older siblings who taught me how to appreciate the pain of climbing fourteeners or belting every lyric to a Taylor Swift song.
