I’m a 1st year missionary from Aberdeen, Idaho.
What brought you to Christ in the City?
I went to Seek in 2023, and decided to visit a Christ in the City talk. After seeing the
missionaries speak at seek, I had a new growing desire to care for and seek out the poor in my
day to day life. So when I went home and made it a mission to do just that. The desire continued
to grow and eventually I made the decision to see what the program was about. After a visit
over the summer and seeing the community here I was hooked. Or at least I thought I was. In
my quiet time with the Lord I felt his call to take the chance and do a year of service. I was
scared and even wanted to resist, God kept coming back asking me to give Him this chance. So
I prayerfully accepted His invitation and am excited to see what happens next.
What are you looking forward to?
I look forward to having the chance to meet people. Being able to encounter people brings me
so much joy, it is always so fun. I also look forward to deepening my relationship with God the
Father. I want to be able to rest in his divine providence and to praise him in all things. Trusting
in the Fathers’ will and submitting to it was always challenging to me, so I hope that working in
this mission will give me the opportunity to encounter the Lord deeply in this way.
A bit about me
I grew up in a small town in Aberdeen, Idaho, it was one square mile of farming heaven, which
meant that I had to find a sport to keep me entertained growing up. My favorite new sport is
baseball, and I can throw a mean curveball (might not be in the strike zone but it does bend).
When I am not trying to strike out imaginary hitters, I like to run and also take photos.
