Hi, I'm Alyssa

I’m a first year missionary from St. Charles, Missouri!

What brought you to Christ in the City?

The Lord! Going into my sophomore year of college I was introduced to Christ in the City through a street tour and contemplated the idea of the “poverty of loneliness” for the first time. I sat in the chapel and told God that if He wanted me to come back, He should let me know. Fast forward to next school year and my college Newman Center was going on a spring break trip to Christ in the City for the first time! I went and fell in love with encountering others and them encountering me. I then spent 3 weeks in Boston with the mission and met some amazing friends both on and off the streets. The Lord truly knew I needed little steps for this year-long yes that I am so excited to start!

What are you looking forward to?

I am excited about living in community and cultivating it on the streets. There’s something special about living on mission and the intentionality at Christ in the City. Most importantly, I hope to learn how to love God, my community, my friends on the streets, my family, and myself in a much deeper way while letting them love me as well.

A little about me…

I grew up in St. Charles, MO, attended St. Dominic High School, and just graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology. I am a lover of sunsets, longboarding, playing soccer, reading, hammocking, and spontaneity in general (let me know if you want to go on an adventure!). I am always down to try out a new sport and love getting to spend quality time with friends. I hope to become a Family Medicine Physician Assistant one day and am enjoying the journey of life. Let me know how I can pray for you!
