My name’s Meaghan and I’m a 1st-year Christ in the City missionary from Hathaway, LA.

What brought you to Christ in the City?

I have always felt closest to God through service and through the poor. During my senior year of college, I had the opportunity to go on street walks with the homeless in Baton Rouge. I found myself planning my weeks around these walks because I never wanted to miss a Sunday with these people. I originally planned to start physical therapy school immediately after my college graduation, but I felt the Lord calling me to be vulnerable and courageous. Specifically, I felt Him telling me that now was the time to commit myself to Him through service. Doors continued to open until I finally decided to say yes to His plans for me!

What are you looking forward to?

I cannot wait for all of the relationships I will make within the next year! I love the idea of living with a bunch of young people who are all striving for Heaven. I’m also super excited about all of the friendships I am going to make on the streets. I feel Christ’s love the most through genuine friendships, and I know this next year will be filled with these friendships.

A bit about me

I was born and raised in a small town called Hathaway, Louisiana where I am the middle child of 5 children. I will graduate with my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from LSU in May of 2022, and I hope to one day be a physical therapist. I love being outside, especially if it involves playing tennis. If possible, I would spend all of my time at the beach. I am a people person who loves traveling to new places, meeting new people and listening to good music. Also, I could live off of crunchy peanut butter and popcorn!

everyone deserves
to be known & loved

If you join me in the mission as a monthly supporter, you will also become part of Known & Loved, Christ in the City’s monthly giving community! We are so grateful for our monthly supporters and their consistent generosity which makes it possible for us missionaries to be formed and reach out the homeless all year-long.

Watch Zach’s testimony below to hear what it means to him to be Known & Loved.
