My name’s Lillie and I’m a 1st-year Christ in the City missionary from Mankato, MN.

What brought me to Christ in the City

In college, the Lord began revealing more of how He has formed my heart to love and be loved, and with that, the desire to serve. Then, amidst the uncertainty and cancelations of 2020, I found myself drawn to CIC and applying last-minute to do a Summer of Service. Though I was unfamiliar with CIC and the mission, I quickly felt at home and fell in love with the mission of encounter and all it encompasses. By the end of the summer, I felt the Lord inviting me to apply and then giving me the grace and courage to give my “yes,” and I couldn’t be more excited.

What I’m looking forward to

I am most looking forward to living in an intentional community. Learning to receive and embrace the unknown challenges, growth, joys, sufferings, poverties, and triumphs the Lord will give us together. I am also looking forward to learning to behold and reverence the unique facets of God within each friend on the street, community member, and myself.

A bit about me

As a high schooler, I was a gymnast on track to compete in college, but my career ended with a serious injury for which I couldn’t be more grateful because it led me back to God! Without this change of plans, I would not have had a profound conversion or be where I am today (but if you ask nicely, I still might do a flip for you;))! As of late, I love going on random adventures and getting to know people, and I have found those two go together well! You can often find me planning road trips and travels with friends based on what places have the coolest cathedrals, shrines, and national parks.

everyone deserves
to be known & loved

If you join me in the mission as a monthly supporter, you will also become part of Known & Loved, Christ in the City’s monthly giving community! We are so grateful for our monthly supporters and their consistent generosity which makes it possible for us missionaries to be formed and reach out the homeless all year-long.

Watch Zach’s testimony below to hear what it means to him to be Known & Loved.
