Grant

My name’s Grant and I’m a 1st year Christ in the City missionary from Monument, CO.

SUPPORT GRANT
What brought you to Christ in the City?

I came to Christ in the City because I have had a heart for the homeless since I was little. Whenever I would go into the city, and encounter the homeless, I wanted to offer what I could to help them. Oftentimes it was food, but as I grew up, I began to spend more time speaking to them and hearing their stories. It was difficult leaving them because it was rare that I would see them again. I wanted to continue to develop the friendships. Christ in the City is a unique mission that allows me to develop friendships with the men and women on the streets and see them whenever I can.

What are you looking forward to?

I am looking forward to the communal living based upon prayer and charity. I had something
like it during my time in seminary. I grew to be a better man and closer to Jesus and His mother, Mary, while I was at the Mount. I would not trade my years in seminary for anything for these reasons. I look forward to continually growing in charity with my brother and sister missionaries at CIC.

A bit about me

I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, and apparently, that is an obvious fact. From the
stickers on my water bottle to the Chaco’s, I am told that I am thoroughly granola. Beyond that, I am a convert to the Catholic faith, having not been raised in a church by my parents. God reeled me in by philosophy, reading the Gospels, and the love of my Christian friends. I also enjoy playing all sports, especially basketball, and I love to hike, read, and watch movies.
