Christ in the City is pleased to announce it has received a $30,000 grant from Our Sunday Visitor Institute. These funds will support our Second Year Missionary’s Formation.  The second year missionary program puts Christ in the City’s vision of cultivating Catholic leadership into action. These “senior” missionaries mentor incoming missionaries and developing projects with the knowledge and experience gained the first year to engage the community to join in our efforts and develop initiatives to meet more specific needs of the homeless, like the women’s ministry spear-headed by second year missionaries in 2015.

Thanks to the generous support of Our Sunday Visitor, second year missionaries will be enrolled in three master’s classes through the Augustine Institute, equipping them intellectually, spiritually, and pastorally to have the foundation to be leaders and mentors within Christ in the City, and then go on to renew the Church and transform the world for Christ as active Catholic leaders.

“The Our Sunday Visitor Grant” represents Christ in the City’s strong base of support that includes respected leaders in the Catholic community. It will allow us to strengthen our foundation as we prepare to expand our ministry.” – Erin McCrory, Managing Director

Our Sunday Visitor Institute awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process and seeks to support and encourage innovative Church-related programs and activities to serve the Church by articulating its teachings, educating its people, and evangelizing the broader culture.[/fusion_text][/fullwidth]
