My name’s Colette and I’m a 1st-year Christ in the City missionary, returning for a 2nd year, from Morristown, NJ.
I have seen the most growth this year in truly seeing and knowing my identity in Christ. I came into this year thinking I was going to be mainly giving and serving. It has become very evident that this year the Lord wanted me to learn how to receive from others. From my community to my friends on the street, I have received so much love and generosity. I have seen how Jesus is using others to show His love for me and to bring me closer to Him. He has revealed to me how He sees me and how much He loves me through others.
Every time you encounter someone whether it is on the streets, at the park, or in your own home, you are encountering Jesus.
My favorite memory from this year was on the Feast of St. Joseph! My street team and I got to visit one of our good friends who was staying in an apartment for the week. We met him at his place and brought him In- N-Out. We hung out and had lunch together and got to share with him in our celebration of St. Joseph!
