What brought you to Christ in the City?

I was introduced to Christ in the City from a former missionary, and had the opportunity of visiting the community before joining them in a Summer of Service in Los Angeles in 2021. There I began entering into the idea of being called to mission to the poor. I completely fell in love with the homeless, and with the community cultivated at Christ in the City. The experience led me to continuing with Christ in the City for their Year of Service program. My Year of Service has brought an abundance of growth, an even greater love for the homeless, for Christ in the City, and a deep conviction that Jesus wants me here for another year.

How has Christ in the City helped you grow?

Christ in the City has enriched my life in many ways. I have grown in patience, availability to others, a sense of reverence for those in front of me, mercy, and have a greater capacity to love others!

A bit about me

I am from Louisiana, and was in college for a year before coming to Christ in the City. I love quality time with others, playing or listening to music, being in nature, dancing barefoot, and I love spontaneity. I see life as a pilgrimage to heaven, a place to be purified and chiseled into who I am created to be. I am poor, small (exterior and interiorly), and eager to be filled with God. As I prepare for another year at Christ in the City, I am looking forward to continuing to grow, be purified, filled, emptied, and loved!

to be known & loved

If you join me in the mission as a monthly supporter, you will also become part of Known & Loved, Christ in the City’s monthly giving community! We are so grateful for our monthly supporters and their consistent generosity which makes it possible for us missionaries to be formed and reach out the homeless all year-long.
