My name’s Ann-Ayrisse and I’m a 1st-year Christ in the City missionary.

What brought me to Christ in the City

Through many small beautiful moments, God placed CIC into my life. It began with a simple “yes” to God’s invitation for me to draw closer, to give Him everything. That “yes” opened so many doors beginning with a retreat where I heard God’s voice. Another door was visiting CIC where I had beautiful encounters with the poor. God’s grace continuously poured over me. My life, my desires, and wants became more aligned with Him, with what God wanted for me. God’s voice grew louder, and I began feeling called to missions. I kept thinking about the homeless I had encountered at CIC, their sweet faces, their beautiful smiles, and their eyes that radiated their innate goodness through God. It truly was God who brought me to CIC, and I couldn’t be more excited to see what is to come in my upcoming year of service!

What I am looking forward to

There is so much to look forward to in this upcoming year of service! Living in a community with new brothers and sisters that encourage me to grow, and that share love for the poor! I am excited to learn more about myself, and to learn more about God. To be Jesus’s hands and feet, while also encountering Jesus on the streets. I’m excited to see my community come together, to see my growth, and to become more deeply rooted in Christ.

A bit about me

I was a freshman in college last year at the University of Louisiana and God called me to missions! I did not think it was possible for me to be a part of CIC this upcoming year, but the Lord provides when He has His plan. I am a lover of music, of dancing, adventures, road trips, cooking, art, singing, reading, and getting to know people’s hearts! I love a good car ride with the windows rolled down listening to a good tune, and a beautiful sunset! I love seeing God in beauty, whether that is through nature or people, it brings me so much joy! I am beyond excited to be a part of CIC in the upcoming year!!
