My name’s Andy and I’m a 1st-year Christ in the City missionary from all over (military brat)!

What brought me to Christ in the City

Two summers ago, a FOCUS missionary invited me to join him for a week of service with Christ in the City, and during this week the CIC missionaries gave me a great example on how to encounter the homeless by first encountering me when I arrived. Their joy, generosity of time, encouragement, and sincerity was contagious, and I was able to share just a little of these gifts I’d just received with a handful homeless that week. Since then, I’ve continually looked for opportunities to love the marginalized, not just for duties sake, but because they teach me how to truly live.

What I’m looking forward to
  1. Having the opportunity to live in a community which challenges me daily to surrender to grace and trust in divine intercession.
  2. To learn from the friends I meet on the street on how to find hope in darkness, peace and chastity in tiredness, and forgiveness in injustice.
A bit about me

I am a lifelong Catholic, military brat (having lived in eleven different places), older brother to two sisters, and will graduate from Ave Maria University Spring 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. When I’m not studying or spending time with family, I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, riding bikes, and listening to audio books. My dream when I “grow up” is to work for or run a business which helps people with addictions.

everyone deserves
to be known & loved

If you join me in the mission as a monthly supporter, you will also become part of Known & Loved, Christ in the City’s monthly giving community! We are so grateful for our monthly supporters and their consistent generosity which makes it possible for us missionaries to be formed and reach out the homeless all year-long.

Watch Zach’s testimony below to hear what it means to him to be Known & Loved.
